Idris Elba response to Anthony Horowitz
Idris Elba has responded to author Anthony Horowitz who called the British actor ‘too street’ to play James Bond – with an amazing Instagram post mocking the use of the word.
‘Always Keep Smiling!!’ Idris wrote on the picture sharing social site, alongside a screenshot of the original article.
He then added: ‘It takes no energy and never hurts! Learned that from the Street!! #Septemberstillloveyou.’
Wises words from Idris who has remained the bookies favourite to take on the role of 007 after Daniel Craig steps down after Spectre.
Anthony’s latest Bond novel Trigger Mortis is out on 8 September and David Oyelowo has recorded the audiobook.
Idris would become the first black actor to take on Bond on the big screen and has been linked to the role for quite some time now.
However Anthony told the Daily Mail that although it wasn’t ‘a colour issue’, he didn’t think Idris is ‘suave’ enough to pull it off.
He said: ‘For me, Idris Elba is a bit too rough to play the part. It’s not a colour issue. I think he is probably a bit too “street” for Bond.
‘Is it a question of being suave? Yeah.’
We’re sorry, has Anthony ever seen Idris in anything ever?
